From: The Jakarta Post
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked Indonesian diplomats Thursday to proactively help attract investment to the country in order to meet the Rp 2,000 trillion (US$214 billion) per year in investment funds target.

The targeted investment is designed to help the nation reach its 7 percent rate of economic growth by 2014.

“The sources of investment are expected from major countries, such as China, Japan, European countries and Australia,” said the President in a meeting with Foreign Ministry officials at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

In response to the President's remarks, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said the diplomats were ready to answer the request.

“We are trying not only to seek opportunities, but also to create opportunities [in investment],” said Marty as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
